Corporate responsibility at OXXA
At OXXA, corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a core part of how we do business. For us, this means doing business consciously with consideration for people, animals, nature, and the environment. These values form the basis of our daily decisions and actions. As a company, we feel a strong responsibility to contribute to a better future for future generations, even if our contribution seems small. For us, sustainability is not an afterthought, but a fundamental pillar on which we base important choices-both in the past and in the plans we have for the future. We'd like to show you why sustainability plays such a crucial role in our strategy and how it influences our decisions.
Office building
The current office building has hundreds of solar panels. We heat the building with heat pumps and underfloor heating. On net, the building produces more energy annually than we consume. The building therefore has an energy label A. There is a heat recovery system in the building. It extracts energy from the exhaust air and can transfer up to 80% of the energy from the air into new fresh air. All lighting the building is LED lighting and we place conditions on the energy use of new equipment. Equipment in the data center that does not need to be on is turned off by definition to save power.
Co2
All new resellers of OXXA.com received a tree as a gift in 2020-2021 to offset their CO2 emissions. In this way we planted hundreds of trees that are still growing in Spain today. This action was made possible by Eurid at the time. Our data center Iron Mountain in Haarlem is completely CO2 neutral through the use of green energy and investments in global green projects (in cooperation with the Climate Neutral Group).
Sponsorship
We sponsored Rotterdam Zoo Blijdorp in 2021 by purchasing 500+ lottery tickets. In addition, we asked our customers to do the same with an awareness campaign. We also sponsor small at the Soccer Association Spijkenisse by providing web hosting and a domain name. Through our supplier SIDN, we donate many thousands of Euros annually to SIDN Fund. This fund contributes to strong internet for all. Although we do not support the creation of the fund, we see it as a form of CSR. Sustainable work environment
During the design phase, particular attention was paid to the air treatment which is regulated on the basis of the CO2 level and the possibility to regulate the temperature per room in the office. The design of the office will be realized in such a way that employees and visitors enjoy working in the office, are inspired and as a result stay with us much longer.
Operational reliability
Our ISO27001 certification guarantees the continuity as well as the security of our customers' information. Thanks to this certification, we are very well insured (including liability, professional liability, cyber security, business damage, etc.) and have technical and organizational measures in place to ensure continuity.
Botlek business club
The Botlek Business Club is a business-to-business networking organization in the Rijnmond region. It is a platform for entrepreneurs and professionals to share knowledge and experiences. The Botlek Business Club is one of the most active networks in Rotterdam and surroundings. Monthly there are interesting and especially pleasant meetings in the Rotterdam-Botlek region. Piece by piece meetings with different characters at surprising locations.
