Summer is coming to an end - the time to look ahead and help your clients get their websites ready for the fall. For you as a reseller, this presents opportunities: by proactively offering advice and services, you not only increase the security and performance of their websites, but also your own revenue. Use this checklist to make sure your clients go into the fall season strong and secure online.

1. Updates & maintenance

Advise your clients to keep their CMS (such as WordPress), themes and plug-ins up-to-date and remove unused components. Also check if the PHP version is still up to date: a new version is faster and more secure. Do you offer maintenance support? This is an ideal opportunity to sell additional services or unburden your clients.

2. Backups & recovery

A reliable backup is indispensable. Encourage your clients to make daily backups and regularly test if a restore is working. As a reseller, you can add value here by emphasizing that OXXA.com facilitates secure backups by default, and that you are the contact person ready to answer questions.

3. Security in order

Check with your customers that SSL certificates are active and not about to expire. Enable auto-renew where possible. Recommend paid SSL certificates for validation and a trustworthy image. Also don't forget: 2FA, strong passwords and additional security software such as firewall or malware scanning. This gives you opportunities to actively offer SSL certificates and security solutions.

4. Speed & performance

Speed largely determines the user experience. Let your customers test with tools such as PageSpeed and help them optimize images, caching and plug-ins. Does a customer need more capacity? Then this is the time to suggest an upgrade to a larger hosting package or a VPS - you provide the solution.

5. Reachability & monitoring

Encourage customers to properly manage domain renewal and auto-renew to avoid downtime. With uptime and SSL monitoring, you as a reseller offer additional security. A staging environment to safely test updates can also be part of your service.

6. Content & conversion

Remind customers to keep their content up-to-date: business hours, prices, product information and contact forms. Check that checkout and analytics are working correctly. You can play an advisory role in this so that their website is not only technically, but also commercially strong.

7. Email & reputation

Properly set up DNS records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) help your customers get into the inbox. As a reseller, you can support them in this. This is also the time to alert your customers to additional email services and reputation management.

Conclusion

By using this checklist, you add immediate value as a reseller. You help your clients stay safe, fast and reliable online, while creating opportunities to offer additional services. Fall is an excellent time to proactively engage with your clients and strengthen your role as a trusted partner.
